Description	:	Bertha Mae Gilchrist Lyne, one of 8 children born to Robert Allen Gilchrist and Elizabeth Ann Allen Gilchrist, was born October 6, 1888, on a farm near Mt, Clare, Nebraska, and passed away December 28, 1985, in the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at the age of 97 years. 2 months and 22 days. Bertha was a lifetime member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1909. Read More	Bertha Mae Gilchrist Lyne, one of 8 children born to Robert Allen Gilchrist and Elizabeth Ann Allen Gilchrist, was born October 6, 1888, on a farm near Mt, Clare, Nebraska, and passed away December 28, 1985, in the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at the age of 97 years. 2 months and 22 days. Bertha was a lifetime member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1909. On August 2, 1911, in her parents home, she was married to Philip Lyne. This union was blessed with 5 children. They spent 38 years farming in the Webber, Kansas, area. After that time they moved to Superior. She was active in various women societies in church in Webber and Superior, teaching, missionary work and circles. She entered the Good Samaritan Center in Superior in October of 1978. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip on March 2, 1975, two sons, one grandson, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis and her husband Joseph Guiliano of La Habra, California, and Eva and her husband Glen Harris of Colfax, California; one son, Mark Lyne and wife Ruth of Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, Sam Gilchrist of Durango, Colorado, and Robert Gilchrist of San Diego, California; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, December 30, 1985, at 10:00 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Rev. Ralph Joseph officiating. Music was provided by Gregory Lyne, soloist,singing "Face To Face" and "Psalm 23" with Lynn Wilton as organist and accompanist. Casketbearers were Randy Lyne, Ed Groves, Leo Zadina, Maynard Crispin, Jack Russell and Kenneth Hurd. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery near Superior. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements. Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 9, 1986
