Description	:	Bertha M. Voss, 92, of Manning, formerly of Le Mars, died Monday, Aug.8, 1994, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. Bertha Margaret Renken was born Dec. 6, 1901, to Jurgen and Wilhemina (Berg) Renken on the family farm in Grant Township. She was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church. She attended rural schools and was confirmed in 1913 at Christ Lutheran Church. She and her family moved to Le Mars. Voss, 92, of Manning, formerly of Le Mars, died Monday, Aug.8, 1994, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. Bertha Margaret Renken was born Dec. 6, 1901, to Jurgen and Wilhemina (Berg) Renken on the family farm in Grant Township. She was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church. She attended rural schools and was confirmed in 1913 at Christ Lutheran Church. She and her family moved to Le Mars. Mrs. Voss lived with her parents and was employed at the Le Mars Clinic until she was married on Jan. 31, 1928. She cared for her mother until her death and then became employed at the Le Mars J.C. Penney for a few years. Later she was employed at the Le Mars Clinic and remained there until her retirement after 25 years of service. She resided at Floyd Valley Apartments in Le Mars until November of 1992 when she entered the Manning Plaza after becoming ill while visiting in Manning. Survivors are one son, Varold and his wife, Lois of Akron; one daughter, Ona Dean and her husband, Orland Fara of Manning; five grandchildren, Diane Voss Moffatt and her husband, Larry, Carrie Voss Eastman and her husband, Scott, Dean Fara and his wife, Kimberly, Alan Fara and his wife, Laura, and Mike Fara and his wife Kathy; 14 greatgrandchildren, Travis, Shelia and Jason Moffatt, Natasia, Roman and Sheriden Eastman, Elizabeth and Megan Fara, Christin, Nathan, and Nicholas Fara, Steven, Sharon and Eric Fara. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jurgen and Wilhemina Berg Renken; eight brothers and sisters, Jurgen in infancy, Herman, Garith, John, George, Mary, Anna and Minnie. Services will be 10:30 a m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 1994, at St. John's Lutheran Church ELCA with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Grant Township. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
