Description	:	February 11, 1926 - West Branch Times Bertha Rachel Fawcett, daughter of Elwood and Sarah Fawcett, was born near Springdale, Ia., July 1, 1878. She was the eldest of three daughters. In childhood, she attended the Peat Vale school, located on the home farm, later entering the high school at Springdale where she graduated with the class of 1897. Read More	February 11, 1926 - West Branch Times Bertha Rachel Fawcett, daughter of Elwood and Sarah Fawcett, was born near Springdale, Ia., July 1, 1878. She was the eldest of three daughters. In childhood, she attended the Peat Vale school, located on the home farm, later entering the high school at Springdale where she graduated with the class of 1897. Sept. 4, 1901, she was united in marriage with Albert F. Millett and to them were born two daughters, Celia and Alta, who are both at home. To all who knew her, hers was a life of devotion. Unselfishness was woven into every thought and act. "Others first", seemed to be her life motto. Her entire lifetime was spent on the farm where her parents had lived since their marriage in 1874. She loved the things of nature and it was her pleasure to make the home surroundings beautiful with trees and flowers. Forty-seven years seems but a short life, but it pleased her Heavenly Father to call her to a better home, in the early hours of the morning of Feb. 8, 1926. She joined the Methodist church at Springdale in 1888 where she continued to be a faithful member. The things of God and her religion were taught by every expression of her life. Besides a host of friends and relatives she leaves to mourn her loss a husband, the daughters and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Phelps of West Liberty and Miss Edna Fawcett of Chicago.
