Description	:	Oct 3, 1944 - Carroll Times - Mrs. O.H. Hoeft, pioneer Carroll resident, died at 6 o'clock last evening at the St. Anthony hospital. She would have been 93 years old Nov. 1. Mrs. Hoeft, who had been at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.C. O'Donnell, since the first of May, suffered a slight stroke Sunday, Sept. 24. She was taken to the hospital on the same day. Funeral services are to be at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at SS. Peter and Paul's church, with the Rev. Father Lambert Schenkelberg offering the requiem mass. Burial will be in... Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery beside her husband, who died in 1923. The body is resting at the funeral home until the time of the rites. Mrs. Hoeft had lived in Carroll for about 60 years, her husband; a tailor, having been in business here for a long time. She was born Bertha Scholmeier Nov. 1, 1851. Her marriage to Mr. Hoeft took place in Davenport. Surviving are four sons and four daughters: Edward Hoeft, Hot Springs, Ark; Joseph Hoeft, St Petersburg, Fla; Leo Hoeft, Phoenix, AZ; Major Gerald H Hoeft, San Antonio, Tex; Mrs J.C. O'Donnell (Amanda), Carroll; Mrs E.J. Schwaderer (Ella), Rockwell City; Mrs Fred F Collison (Mary) and Mrs W.J. Kerwin (Lillian), Carroll. She also leaves 13 grandchildren. Mrs Hoeft was a member of Ss. Peter and Pual's church and the Christian Mothers Sodality of the parish.
