Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Otto Trachte of Arpin, Wis.; Mrs. May McLaughlin of St. Paul, Minn; Mrs. Lawrence Pint of Osage; Mrs. Arnold Loftus, Waseca, Minn.; Miss Alma Koschmeder, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Frances Trout, Osage; Mrs. Alvin Petznick, St. Ansgar; and Mrs. Elmer Muller, Osage; three sons, Alfred, Edward and Roy, all of Osage, 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There are also three half-brothers and four half-sisters. Bertha Zarling became the bride of Herman Koschmeder, September 27, 1895, at Rock Creek Lutheran church. The couple established its first home on the George Furse farm near Grafton, later moving to a nearby farm. They purchased a farm in Rock township a year later, purchasing the farm now known as the Koschmeder farm in Rock township, on which the couple spent 42 years of its wedded life. March 1, 1944, the couple retired to its present home in Osage. Thirteen children were born to the couple, Daughters include: Mrs. Otto Trachte, Arpin, Wis.; Mrs. Leslie McLaughlin, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Frank Pint, Mitchell; Mrs. Lawrence Pint, Osage; Mrs. Arnold Loftus, Waseca, Minn.; Alma, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Milton Trout, Osage; Mrs. Alvin Petznick, Mitchell; and June, Osage. Sons include Alfred, Osage; George, deceased; Edward, Osage; and Corporal Roy with the army air forces on Okinawa.
