Description	:	Bessie Elizabeth Parker, 85, of Bonaparte died at 9:05 a.m. Sunday, October 7, 2001 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua where she had resided since April 1998. She was born May 22, 1916 near Cantril, to David and Hannah Garrett Winters. She married Louie Parker February 14, 1935 in Keosauqua. He died January 23, 1992. She was born May 22, 1916 near Cantril, to David and Hannah Garrett Winters. She married Louie Parker February 14, 1935 in Keosauqua. He died January 23, 1992. They lived most of their married life in Bonaparte. She was a homemaker, had been a Girl Scout Leader and was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church. Surviving are five sons, Louie, Jr. of Ft. Madison, Gary of Bonaparte, Donald and Rick, both of Mt. Pleasant and Ronald of Farmington; three daughters, Barbara Troutman, Beverly Medaris and Carolyn Morris all of Bonaparte; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her parents; two brothers, George and David; and a sister, Evelyn, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 10 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Burial was in Bonaparte Cemetery.
