Description	:	Daughter of Bernard and Aurora (Blum) Kauk. Attended rural school south of Alma; graduated from Alma High School. As a young child, was a member of the Methodist Church in Alma. Received her teaching certificate at Kearney State Teachers College, taught school in rural Harlan County near Oxford. Married: April 21, 1935 to Henry Maruhn in Alma. He died Feb. 1, 1964. Lived on a farm northwest Harlan County near Mascot; enjoyed farm life. Family attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford Moved to Kearney, 1967; became a resident of The Homestead, 1999. Was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and four sisters.
