Description	:	Bethel Sutton, 96, of Central City, formerly of York, died on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Litzenberg Long-Term Care in Central City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. The Rev. Valjean Warman will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at Palmer Funeral Home. Mrs. Sutton was born on April 27, 1914, in Nance County to Derwood and Lula (Stearman) Milby. She married LaVerne Sutton of Silver Creek on June 23, 1933, at Grand Island. He died in 1962. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Sutton and Deelyn Sutton; and one daughter, Gloria John. Survivors of the immediate family include one son-in-law, Fred John of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Glenda Milby of Hesston, Kan.; and one sister-in-law, Mary Milby of Fullerton. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sutton attended country school and Fullerton High School, graduating in 1931. She stayed home the next year to help her parents. She and LaVerne lived on a farm at Silver Creek all their married life. To this union, three children were born, Larry, Deelyn and Gloria. Bethel moved to York in 1963. She cleaned houses and later worked as a dispatcher for the York Police Department for 10 years. In 2005, due to failing health, she moved to Litzenberg Long-Term Care in Central City. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in York and a Birthday Club. She loved to read, travel, cook, collect recipes and have company. She had a great sense of humor and was easy to get along with. She corresponded with lots of friends and family. One of her greatest delights was visiting her daughter, Gloria, and son-in-law, Fred, when they were living in Germany in the military. She and Gloria visited several countries in Europe and really enjoyed it. Bethel lost her children when they were young. In addition to her husband and children, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Grace Russell; and three brothers, Ralph Milby, Ray Milby and Dale Milby. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Litzenberg Long-Term Care activities department in Central City or your family's choice.
