MLD gives the date of Betsey's death as 1 Jan 1871, but that must certainly be in error; she would have been well over 100 years old at that time. - Betsey married Captain Daniel McDuffee on 19 Jul 1787 as his second wife. She appeared on the tax rolls of Rochester until about 1827, when she presumably died (recorded by GF Carter). The date of her marriage is given by ML Driscoll, "Descendants of the NH MacDuffees", DAR, 1949, p. 34, and by Franklin McDuffee's "History of Rochester". "Children of Daniel MCDUFFEE (Captain) and Betsey NOCK were as follows: 65 i George McDuffee [58], born 28 Feb 1793 in Rochester, Strafford, NH. IMISC: There is a small grave next to Captain Daniel McDuffee's wife in the McDuffee cemetery on Route 11 in Rochester, NH. Apparently this was for a child. Possibly it was for George, as he may have died rather early. No further record of George is known, (GF Carter) 66 ii Luther McDuffee [59], born 1 Apr 1796 in Rochester, Strafford, NH; died 1871 in Rochester, NH. !CENSUS: In the 1860 census he was 64 yrs. old; pauper; son of Capt. Daniel McDuffee and Betsey Nock. Rochester, Strafford County, NH."
