Born in Gaffney, S.C. she was the daughter of the late R. V. Kite, Sr., and Jessie Marie Hughes Kite McSwain. She retired from textiles, was a former dog groomer, and was a member of Limestone Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Winfred Ronald Hyatt of Gaffney; five daughters, Connie Marie Bolf, Barbara Short, Pamela Hyatt (Wayne Parker), Sherri Vassey and husband, Jason, all of Gaffney, and Sandra Kenan of Willard, N.C.; a brother, Vernon Kite of Blacksburg, S.C.; a sister, Frances Daniel of Cowpens, S.C.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Kite and R. V. Kite, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in Frederick Memorial Gardens with Mr. Todd Parker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Limestone Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 455, Gaffney, S.C. 29342. The family will be at their respective homes. An online guest register is available at www.blakelyfuneralhome.com.
