Description	:	Betty Jean Sweeney, 95, of Ottumwa, died May 8, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa. She was born August 27, 1924 in Ottumwa to Earl and Clara Tinsley Daggett. She married Dwaine Sweeney November 15, 1943. He preceded her in death December 25, 2000. Betty had worked as a secretary for John Morrell & Co., Ralston Purina, and First Christian Church. She also helped manage the Wildwood Park Apartments with her husband. Surviving are her children, Dennis (Sandy) Sweeny of Hilton Head, SC, Randy (Sharon) Sweeney of and Cindy Brown, both of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, Arron Sweeney of Berkley, CA, Joshua Sweeney of Youngstown, OH, Jenna Brown-Maines of Ottumwa and Jeremy Brown of Chicago, IL; three great grandchildren, Jayden Maines of Ottumwa, Lola Sweeney and Cedar Sweeney both of Berkley, CA. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Greg Brown. Limited visitation will be open to friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, at Reece Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.rfh-ia.com. Private funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home. For those not able to be inside the funeral home with the family during the service, you may watch the funeral live from Reece Funeral Home's Facebook page. Cremation will follow the service.
