Ward St. died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Hospital, following a short illiness. He had been an employe in continuous service at John Morrell & Co. from 1915 until 1950, prior to his retirement as credit manager. He served in the Philippines with the U. S. Government Subsistance Department about three years. 60 - Year Resident The son of Charles F. and Annie Eastman Daggett, he was born at Lansing, Dec. 5, 1884. He hade lived in Ottumwa over 60 years, and married Clara M. Tinsley here on June 7, 1916. She survives. He was a member of Finley Avenue Baptist Church, was past master and 50 - year member of Ottumwa Lodge 16 A. F. & A. M., and was a 50 - year member of the Chapter Council and Commandery of local Masonic orders. He was past grand commander of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa in 1942 and 1943. He was also a member of Kaaba Shrine and Zarethath Consistory, both at Davenport, the Red Cross of Constatine at Cedar Rapids, and the Order of Eastern Star 112, and Wapello White Shrine, both at Ottumwa. He was a retired member of the board of Ottumwa Federal Building and Loan. Also surviving are one daughter, Betty J. Sweeney of Ottumwa; two grandsons, Dennis Craig and Randy Alan Sweeney, both of Ottumwa; and one grandaughter, Cynthia Kay Sweeney of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by one son in infancy and by two sisters. Funeral Saturday Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harry Lansman of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Past commanders of Malta Commandery serving as pallbearers. Ward St., who died at St. Joseph Hospital Tuesday at 6:45 p.m., will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel in charge of the Rev. Harry Lansman of First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lloyd Rime, Glenn S. Morris, Marvin L. Randall, Gerald McGee, James E. Higgins, and Ronald McCombs. Honorary pallbearers will be J. J. Pelmulder, Willis McClure, Arthur E. Chidester, Donald P. Smith, Paul L. Matthew, and Clarence L. Glass. Masonic services will be held at the funeral chapel today at 7:30 p.m.
