Description	:	Betty Jeane Dunnaway, age 73, of California, formerly of Versailles, passed away Friday morning, January 28, 2005 at the home of her daughter. She was born December 1, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard E. and Elizabeth Patterson Hart. She was united in marriage on September 5, 1970 with Claude W. Dunnaway, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1995. She resided with her daughter and son-in-law until her death. Read More	Betty Jeane Dunnaway, age 73, of California, formerly of Versailles, passed away Friday morning, January 28, 2005 at the home of her daughter. She was born December 1, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard E. and Elizabeth Patterson Hart. She was united in marriage on September 5, 1970 with Claude W. Dunnaway, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1995. She resided with her daughter and son-in-law until her death. Betty was a member of the Centertown Baptist Church, Senior Women's Sunday School, and the W.M.U. all of Centertown, the O.E.S. Chapter #521 in California, the O.E.S. Chapter #410 of Versailles, and a volunteer for St. Mary's Auxiliary. While in Versailles she belonged to the Past Matrons Club, the Versailles Civic Club, Morgan County Historical Society, United Presbyterian Church and Women's Circle, the Democrat Committee, North Shore Shrine Club, held offices in the Versailles O.E.S. and had been active while her daughter was in school. She was someone you could count on and loved to do things for other people. She loved being a wife, mother and mother-in-law, and loved Southern Gospel Music and wearing hats everywhere she went. She was a very sophisticated and well dressed women. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen Barnes and her husband Brian, of the home; one stepson, James H. Dunnaway of Independence; three step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, two nieces, Donna Schuster and Kimberly May; one nephew, John Hart; five great-nephews, two great-nieces and her very special friends Diane and Jim Brown. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert M. Hart. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, at the Centertown Baptist Church, with Rev. John Gorham officiating. Interment will be in the Versailles Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Ron Proehl, Charles Stephan, Tim Landrum, Parnell Duncan, Joe Robinson and Jim Brown. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles.
