Camarigg, 86, of Washta passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa. Services were Monday at Washta United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carolyn Hollar officiating. Burial was in Sunset View Cemetery at Washta. Betty was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Douglas Township, Ida County, Iowa, to Clyde and Blanche (Powell) Conley. She graduated from Washta Consolidated Schools and never missed a day of school her entire school years. She received a teaching certificate from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Robert Camarigg on Nov. 27, 1942, at Dakota City, Neb. Bob was in the trucking business and Betty often rode with him and was his bookkeeper. She was later employed by Zenith in Sioux City and later for Green Thumb at the Washta Library for 12 years. Her greatest pleasure was her family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, Skip-Bo Cards and Pogo; she was proud of having more than a million tokens. She was a member of Washta United Methodist Church, the church circle, Progressive Club, Sunset View Cemetery Association, luncheon widows' club and Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Domina and her husband, Don of Washta, Iowa; four granddaughters, Cammy Vondrak, Sheila (Mike) Beaumier, Shari (John) Orr and Carla Murphy; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cecile Krier of Sergeant Bluff; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Betty Schirmer and Betsy Clark; and her dog, Princess. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Camarigg; a sister, Opal Cowan; a granddaughter, Crystal Borer; and a great-granddaughter, Mariah Beaumier.
