Greenwood, 71, of Wenatchee, died Sunday, March 11, 2001. She had lived in Wenatchee for 42 years and had worked as a housekeeper for several families. Survivors include six daughters, Juanita Greenwood and Shelly Ehrenberg, both of Wenatchee, Shawna Shaw of East Wenatchee, Debra Largent of Rock Island, Sheryl Sanford of Phoenix, Ariz., and Linda Stirn of Hawaii; and four stepchildren, Jerry Greenwood and Rita Baugh, both of East Wenatchee, Bill Greenwood of Maui, Hawaii, and Bonnie Blackburn of Cashmere. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Maiden Lane Chapel. Interment will follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee. Wenatchee World - Friday, October 2, 2009 To our Mother, You would be 80 years old today. You left us when you were 72. We now have only the vision of you up in Heaven, with our loved ones who had gone before you. You have left behind on this earth many wonderful attributes and memories, which your six daughters will always carry in their hearts. You were not only the best mother, sister and grandmother, you were our example that you laid out for us, a way of life, that if followed, can bring only true happiness and love to us and our families. You taught us how to put a home together, how to cook and how to always take time to have fun, laugh, sing and dance. You taught us about God and how much he was a part of your life. We could probably write a book on all the many outings you took us on and all the special holidays you made sure we had each year. As we grew into adult women, we always felt happy around you and loved within. When we stopped in to see you, there was always a fresh pie, slice of homemade bread and jam or cinnamon rolls to share, as we shared our thoughts with you. You, mom, were the strongest woman, a person could ever meet; nothing could defeat you. You taught us, if tough times came our way, just to be strong, pick ourselves up and keep going. You overcame many personal obstacles in your life, from polio to cancer, which finally took your life. We know, mom, that your spirit is in Heaven, but your girls meet at the cemetery many times and circle your stone and talk about our wonderful and unforgettable times with our mom. Mom, we will all join you someday and we all know that you will be waiting for each of us with open arms. Please give a hug to Dad (Ralph), our brother, Wayne, Holly McCoy, Brad Largent, and all your brothers and sisters, and we'll watch over Aunt Elsie for you!
