The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Betty was born February 8, 1924 in Marysville, KS, the daughter of Max Warden and Bertha Josephine (Freeby) Smith. She was baptized in the Methodist church and graduated from Beattie High School in 1942. After graduation Betty moved to California where she worked in a battery plant during World War II and then later managed the café at the Topeka bus depot. After returning to Marysville, she worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was active in the Shroyer Homemaker's Club for many years and was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In 2020 she was recognized by the Grand Chapter of Kansas for her 75 years of membership. Betty married James Jewell on September 5, 1948. They later divorced. She later reconnected with Irvin "Jay" Glick, who had been her teenage sweetheart, and they married May 9, 1996 in Minden, NV. They made their home in Kennewick, WA and enjoyed 22 years together until his death in November 2018. Betty was preceded in death by seven of her eight siblings: Max Burton Smith, Dolores Brasher, Verla Luckeroth, Rodney Smith, Shirley Hardman, Phyllis Jones, and Frank Lynn Smith. She is survived by her youngest sister , numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, as well as her special friend.
