She is survived by her daughters, Annette Conley (Joe) and Denise Tyler (Jay); daughter-in-law, Bernadette Cox; 7 grandchildren, Suzanne Wilson (David), Lucas Cox (Magan), Candace Burtram (Adam), Coy Gordon (Jessica), Amanda Hagberg (Garrett), Sarah Emerson (Steven), and Jayson Tyler; 8 great-grandchildren, Trenton, Aya, Reese, Tulsa, Harmony, Anna Rose, Sonny and Eric. Betty Cox was a member of The Velvet Ridge Church of God. She and Troy were what people refer to as a "Power Couple" today. For 64 years Betty made her life about making her marriage and her family be the very best it could possibly be. She selflessly worked inside and outside the home helping make her family successful. She and Troy farmed in earlier years and Betty worked alongside him in the fields doing whatever it took just to get the job done and get it done right. She followed Troy all over the United States for his work on the pipeline, and not only did she keep Troy's clothes perfectly starched and ironed, she did for others too, and almost every man on the Pipeline was sporting a "Betty Cox Welding Cap". She took pride in caring for Troy, and loved to cook meals for him and the other workers that were away from home. When she and Troy retired in 1999, she made it her personal goal to spend her days loving her kids and grandbabies, and that she did. Betty had many titles, but Granny was her favorite. Every day at 12:00 there was the best food around sitting on her table for whoever wanted to come. There were rarely ever calls to invite you to lunch, but you knew it was there and you were welcome, and there was ALWAYS enough! Anything that Betty set out to do, she accomplished and did it with perfection. Betty loved the Lord and served him with her whole heart, and it brought her great joy to see her children and grandchildren do the same. She will be missed, but our hearts rejoice for her because she has achieved what she worked her whole life for, and that was to see the face of Jesus. The family will have a private graveside service at the Velvet Ridge Cemetery.
