Description	:	Betty Louise (Joyce) Claussen Skalberg was born June 22, 1926 on a farm south of Bloomfield, Nebraska, to Edwin and Clara (Cooksley) Joyce. Betty died Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Osmond General Hospital, Osmond, Nebraska. Betty attended the one room schoolhouse just southeast of town, and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1944. Betty married Harvey Claussen on December 23, 1945. Four children were born to them: Gerald, Lois, Mary Lou, and Roger. Harvey passed away in 1978. She married Don Skalberg on December 20, 1985. Read More	Betty Louise (Joyce) Claussen Skalberg was born June 22, 1926 on a farm south of Bloomfield, Nebraska, to Edwin and Clara (Cooksley) Joyce. Betty died Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Osmond General Hospital, Osmond, Nebraska. Betty attended the one room schoolhouse just southeast of town, and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1944. Betty married Harvey Claussen on December 23, 1945. Four children were born to them: Gerald, Lois, Mary Lou, and Roger. Harvey passed away in 1978. She married Don Skalberg on December 20, 1985. Betty worked as a cook for Viking Lanes Steakhouse, the Wausa Nursing Center and the Wausa Public Schools. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, participated in quilting, and was the President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Wausa. Betty was an avid card player, participating in a card club for over 30 years. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends while camping and fishing. Betty will be greatly missed by everyone. Betty is survived by: sons, Gerald Claussen of Randolph, Nebraska and Roger Claussen and his wife Becky of Nebraska City, Nebraska; daughters, Lois Enevoldsen and her husband Mike of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mary Lou Monson and her husband Bill of Apache Junction, Arizona; brother, Lowell Joyce and his wife Alyce of Napa, California; 10 grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Betty was preceded in death by: husbands, Harvey and Don; parents, Edwin and Clara; brother, Albert Joyce; nephew, Lowell (Chip) Joyce; grandson, Burdice Monson; and granddaughter and grandson, Audrey and Ted Enevoldsen. Funeral services for Betty L. Skalberg,were 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at the United Methodist Church, Wausa, Nebraska. Reverend Judy Carlson officiated. Burial was in Lutheran Cemetery, Wausa, Nebraska.
