Service for Betty Preszler, age 85 of Lemmon, 4:00pm Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lemmon. Pastor Frank Gant will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery. BETTY MARIE OLSON was born on October 5, 1928 in the home of Sebastian Seiler at McIntosh, SD to Alex and Katherine (Baumeister) Olson. She lived in Watauga with her grandfather. They moved to Lemmon where Betty started St. Mary's School in 1931. She started public school when she was six years old and graduated from Lemmon High School. Betty began working at J.C. Penney under job training while she was in high school. She continued working there for 42 years. Betty was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Preszler on September 24, 1950 at Bison, SD. To this union one son, Shawn was born. She enjoyed her work at J.C. Penney's at the Thrift Shop and also enjoyed sewing. She most enjoyed spending time with family and her granddaughter, Allsion. Following Bob's death in 2007, and due to health reasons, Betty moved in with Shawn, Lee Ann and Allison in 2008. Betty passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon. Surviving family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Lee Ann Preszler, granddaughter, Allison Leigh Preszler, all of Lemmon, SD; a sister-in-law, Joyce Preszler, Rapid City, SD; brother-in-law, J. Fred Voigt, Cordova, TN; 2 brothers, Dennis (Judy) Olson, Rapid City, SD; LaVern Olson, Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert "Bob", step-son, Gary Robert Preszler, and brothers, Duane and Donald Olson. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00pm, Monday from 9:00am to 12 noon at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
