Betty was 85 years, 6 months and 21 days of age having been born on May 18, 1924, the fourth child of William and Mary(Coltrin) Laux in Macon, Nebraska. Betty was raised on the family farm, 3 miles north of Macon, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed in the Macon (Nebraska) Methodist Church. She attended School District 25 and Franklin (Nebraska) High School until she went to Lincoln to work and finish high school. Betty met Louis M. Feigt, who was in the United States Navy in San Diego, California and married him there on September 22, 1943. This began her life as a military wife with great travel, adventure and challenge. To this union, five children were born, Pamela, Louis M. Jr., William, Troy and Betty Lou. Due to her husband's military obligations, Betty found herself valiantly raising her children as a single mother much of the time. As a full time mother, she found time to serve as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts for her sons and as the President of the Ladies' Auxillary of the Naval Fleet Reserve Association in Newfoundland, Canada. Before the birth of her children, Betty worked in support of her country in an Ammunition & Arms factory in Denver, Colorado while her husband served in World War II. After much travel and retirement from the Navy, they left their main home base in Jacksonville, Florida in 1962, had a brief stay in Hildreth, Nebraska and then San Diego, California became their home once again. After her divorce in 1973, she bravely set out to support herself and her three children that remained at home. She worked as a Surgical Technician for Scripps Hospital in San Diego, California and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Free Church. She retired with Honor for Excellence in service from Scripps Hospital after 20 years. She retuned to her home state of Nebraska in 2004 and settled in the Golden Age Village in Franklin, Nebraska and entered the care of Bethany Home of Minden, Nebraska in 2007. Betty is survived by: her children Pam and husband Karl of San Diego, California; Louis and wife Marty of Ballard, Utah; and William(Bill) and wife Patty of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister Bess McInturf of Alma, Nebraska and sister-in law Virginia Laux of Upland, Nebraska. Betty was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by: her parents, William and Mary Laux; children, Troy and Betty Lou Feigt; sisters, Ruth Munson and Grace Laux and brother Roy Laux.
