Description	:	Obituary MRS. A. H. ROOSE Betty Van Oostrum, daughter of William Van Oostrum and Trientje Herwynen was born at Pella, Iowa on December 8, 1875. She was united in marriage on February 13, 1901 with Anthony Roose at Harvey, Iowa. To this union were born 7 children: Surviving are 4 sons: John of Pella, Will of Newton, Henry of Pella and Leonard of Denver, Colorado. Profession of her faith was made at the Bethel Reformed church, later she transferred her membership to the Christian Reformed church where she remained a faithful member till the time of her death. She was a member of the Persia Ladies Aid. Early on the morning of April 2 1 , 1961 s h e passed away at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa where she had been cared for but a couple weeks. Since the death of her husband in 1953 s h e had remained alone in her home in Peoria. She was 85 years, 4 months and 18 days (From The Pella Chronicle April 27, 1961 Page 6)
