She moved to the Sterling area with her family in 1947 and graduated from the Sterling high school in 1948. She was united in marriage of William A. Harms on Aug. 25, 1950. She moved to the Sterling area with her family in 1947 and graduated from the Sterling high school in 1948. She was united in marriage of William A. Harms on Aug. 25, 1950. The couple moved to Douglas, where they lived for ten years and then moved back to rural Sterling in 1960. Betty was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church west of Sterling. At the time of her death, Betty worked as a care staff member at Lakeview Nursing home in Firth, Ne. where she was employed for 16 years. Survivors include 2 sons, Bill and wife, Shellie Harms, and Larry Harms and two daughters, Sharon and her hsuband, David Heusman, and Diane and her husband, Don Crouch. four granddaughters, Kelli and Kristin Crouch and Danielle and Stephanie Heusman; her mother, Elsie Cornett of Sterling. two sisters, Shirley Harms and Carolyn Belding . She was preceded in death by her father, Louy L. Cornett and her husband, William A. Harms on Oct. 20, 1976. Funeral servcies here held June 30, 1994 at Immanuel Lutheran Church west of Sterling. Interment was in the Sterling Cemetery.
