Description	:	Elsie M. Cornett, 100, of Tecumseh, formerly of Sterling, died at Belle Terrace Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. She was born July 28, 1910, in Ohiowa and attended country school near Ohiowa. On June 22, 1929, she married Loy Cornett. They lived around Ohiowa, Bruning and Peru before purchasing a farm northeast of Sterling in 1947. They farmed until moving into Sterling in 1968. She enjoyed canning, gardening, playing cards, polka music and visiting with family. She enjoyed canning, gardening, playing cards, polka music and visiting with family. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Harms and Carolyn Wolfenbarger and husband Harold, all of Sterling; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Brown of Kearney; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Emma Dittmer Molthan; her husband Loy, who died Jan. 26, 1982; one daughter, Betty Harms and her husband William; one son-in-law, Donald Harms; one brother, Ervin; five sisters, LaVern, Mildred, Dorothy, Elaine and Pearl. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the Sterling United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Crist officiating. Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. A family prayer service will be held 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of the church. The body will lie in state at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling on Sunday and Monday from noon until 8 p.m., and then at the church one hour preceding the services on Tuesday.
