To this union three... Read More	CUMBERLAND, BEULAH BURYL—Mrs. Lyle Cumberland passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, February 2, 1969, aged 85 years, 10 months and 13 days. Beulah Buryl Beals was born in Geneva, Neb., March 20, 1883. She lived her entire life in the Geneva community, except for a short period when she resided at Fairmont. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Beals, early settlers in Geneva. She graduated from Geneva high school in 1901. She was married to E. Lyle Cumberland of Geneva, June 3, 1905. To this union three children were born E. Eugene, Judson L. and LaVerne. Mrs. Cumberland was active in church, lodge and civic work. At an early age she was baptized in the Methodist church and held numerous positions in the church and Sunday school and the women’s Society. She was a past matron of the Geneva Eastern Star chapter and held office in the Geneva Rebekah lodge. Due to ill health she had resided the past couple of years at Sunset Home. Mrs. Cumberland was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Judson, her parents and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Eugene of Auburn, a daughter, Mrs. LeVerne Nixon of York, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Salisbury of Geneva and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home, Geneva, at 2 p. m. Tuesday, February 4. Rev. K. Orlando Lee officiated. Mrs. H. A. Rosenau sang “In the Garden” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Mrs. Norval Lomax was accompanist. Pallbearers were Roger Bruning, Edwin Cumberland, William Cumberland, Ben D. Fussell, Gerald Nixon and Thomas Ousey. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal February 20th, 1969 page 9.
