Description	:	Judson Leon (Bud) Cumberland, Fillmore County Treasurer, passed away at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, October 18, 1968, at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 26 days. He had been in ill health a long period. Judson came from pioneer families of this county. He was the son of E. L. Cumberland, former county clerk and assessor. His mother was the daughter of A. J. Read More	Judson Leon (Bud) Cumberland, Fillmore County Treasurer, passed away at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, October 18, 1968, at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 26 days. He had been in ill health a long period. Judson came from pioneer families of this county. He was the son of E. L. Cumberland, former county clerk and assessor. His mother was the daughter of A. J. Beals, one of the older active settlers of Geneva. Bud graduated from Geneva high school, as did his entire family. He later attended Wesleyan University. September 5, 1935, he was united in marriage to Valeria Rock of Geneva. To this union were born two sons and three daughters. One son preceded him in death in 1937. His father passed away in 1965. He served with the Army overseas in World War II. He was elected county treasurer in 1962 and re-elected in 1966. He is survived by his wife, Valeria, son William Lyle; daughters, Mrs. Tom (Judy) Ousey, Mrs. Roger (Mary Gen) Bruning, and Mrs. Kimball (Susan) Wells; six grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Buryl Cumberland; one brother, Eugene of Auburn; and one sister, LaVern Nixon of York; an aunt, Emma Cumberland Salisbury, and three nephews. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Geneva, Monday, October 21, with Revs. C. E. Reisdorff and Paul Ulenberg officiating. Pallbearers were Tom Ewalt, Carl Schneider, Herman Larson, Clement Gergen, Albert Gergen and Lynn Jones. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal Oct 24, 1968
