Description	:	Beulah Goebel, 84, Burlington, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at a Minot nursing home. Beulah L. Bjergaard was born Sept. 19, 1928, to Martin and Emelia (Myre) Bjergaard. Bjergaard was born Sept. 19, 1928, to Martin and Emelia (Myre) Bjergaard. She grew up in Garners Township in Burke County near Powers Lake. She attended school in the area, worked on her parent's farm, and later worked in the Victory Cafe in Minot from 1945 to 1946. Beulah married Murle Houston Sept. 23, 1946. They made their home in Burlington, where she continued to work while raising their three children. She worked at the Ho Hum Motel and was head baker at Bishop Ryan High School in Minot from 1968 to 1974. Murle passed away March 13, 1976. Beulah married Herbert Goebel in August of 1977. They made their home in Burlington, where she was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Burlington Senior Citizens, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. On a personal note, Beulah was a born entrepreneur and found ingenious ways to earn money while being a stay-at-home Mom. She was very gifted, and her excellent cooking and wonderful crafts were enjoyed by her family, many friends and even strangers. She loved all animals, but had a special passion for dogs, cats and horses; she especially enjoyed carousel horses and had a truly impressive collection. A bundle of energy, she was always doing something crocheting, working on crafts, and watching either "Animal Planet" or "Judge Judy." Beulah was a great conversationalist and could talk a Polar Bear into buying ice. She had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends. Her warm heart allowed her to open her home or give food to those who needed it. Her family thanks those who have done the same back. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving family includes: her loving husband, Herb, Burlington; two sons, David (Susie) Houston, of Taylors, S.C., and Curtis (Joan) Houston, of Minot; her daughter, Carol Robbins, of Grand Forks; her grandson, Chris Robbins, and his fiancee, Marsha Holman; her granddaughters, April (Ken) Wheeler and Dawn (Tim) Holifield; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Anderson, from Minot, and Berniece Benson, in Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Murle Houston; two sisters, Esther Beaton and Anna Anderson; and five brothers, Clarence, John, Melfred, Milton, and Magnus Bjergaard. Memorial service: Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Burlington. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Minot Daily News - 6 Oct 2012
