Four Daughters Shirley Jean (Skiver) Ladonna Rubie (Tool) Cynthis Marths (Marquis) Maxine Mae (Epp) Obit Grafton-Beverly Jean Griess of Grafton, formerly of Sutton, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 68. Funeral services were held at the Salem United Methodist Church in Sutton with the Reverend Dale Coates officiating. Burial was in the Sutton Cemetery. Music was provided by duet of Donna Bauer and Bill Bottorf, accompanied by Lunda Miller. Pallbearers were BriAnna Epp, Alan Tool, Justin Marquis, Jordan Epp, Vinson Skiver, Andrew Tool, Kyle Marquis and Shane Marquis. Beverly was born November 9, 1936 in York to Arthur R. and Rubie W. (McGregor) Shambaugh. She attended school in Bradshaw, York and the Aurora and Graduated from Aurora High School in 1954. On July 21, 1954 she was united in marriage to Daniel Reuben Griess in Aurora. She then graduated from Hastings College in 1973 and received her masters degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She taught school in Grafton and Fairmont for over 15 years and preschool in Sutton for several years. She started her own restaurant in Sutton for about four years. She retired to take care of her husband and moved to Grafton in 1999. She was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, taught Sunday School, attended Bible Study, was a 4-H leader and member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel, who died August 10, 2004; one grandson and one brother-in-law. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley and her husband Dennis Skiver of North Platte, LaDonna and her husband Scott Tool, Cynthia and her husband Steve Marquis, both of Lincoln and Maxine and her husband Curtis Epp of Henderson; one sister Una-Merle Emerson of North Highland, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law and other relatives.
