Description	:	Bill Dierks, age 88, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was born February 2, 1923, in Atkinson, Nebraska, the son of the late William and May Betcher Dierks. On October 20, 1990, in Versailles, he was united in marriage to Wilma J. Diener, who survives of the home. Bill was a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII. He worked in construction, and enjoyed cattle farming, deer hunting and coon hunting. Read More	Bill Dierks, age 88, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. He was born February 2, 1923, in Atkinson, Nebraska, the son of the late William and May Betcher Dierks. On October 20, 1990, in Versailles, he was united in marriage to Wilma J. Diener, who survives of the home. Bill was a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII. He worked in construction, and enjoyed cattle farming, deer hunting and coon hunting. Bill was a member of the Stover First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Wilma, he is survived by his sons, Dan Dierks and wife Sandy of Sedalia, Missouri, Gene Dierks of Versailles, Missouri, George Thompson and wife Tonia and Kenneth Thompson and wife Linda both of Fortuna, Missouri, Jerry Thompson of Stover, Missouri, and Larry Thompson and wife Tammy of Eldon, Missouri; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, Gary Dierks and wife Shirley of Hillsdale, Wyoming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Dierks and Karen Dierks, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with the Reverend Danny Owsley officiating. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Versailles. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
