Read More	Billie (Bill) Ray Brown, 84, rural Minneapolis, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 30, 2016. He peacefully left his earthly home while sleeping. He was born August 17, 1931 in Browning, MO to Orval and Frances (Ishmael) Brown. Bill attended grade school at Shafter, MO and high school in Meadville, MO. After finishing school, he worked at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL for two years before he was called into the service. Bill joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War for four years. While stationed at Smoky Hill in Salina, he met Dorothy Wesley. They were united in marriage on April 4, 1954. After serving his country, Bill and Dorothy moved to the Wesley family farm northwest of Minneapolis. To this union three children were born, Dwayne, Darrell, and Dorinda. Bill loved the outdoors – farming and raising calves. He also loved hunting with his boys, Dwayne and Darrell. Later he enjoyed taking the grandsons along as well. Bill loved taking Dorothy and the family skiing in Colorado and enjoying the mountains. After slowing down from farming, he put up hay with his son Dwayne and he owned and operated a grain semi. Bill enjoyed helping the local farmers and elevators by hauling grain. Bill served on the church board, served as an Ottawa County Commissioner, chairman of the Ottawa County Extension, president of the Ottawa County Fair Board, and trustee of the Garfield Township board. For many years, he served as president of the Salt Creek Watershed District 46 at Barnard. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ilene, Evelyn, Marilyn, and Marjorie; and brother Norris. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; children Dwayne Brown and wife Libby, Darrell Brown and wife Belinda, and Dorinda and husband Charles; sister-in-law Evelyn Brown; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Ada. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5-7.
