Born in Dillon County, SC, on November 24, 1958, he was a son of the late John Lorise Bryant and Margaret Belle Johnson Bryant. He was a member of the Dillon Church of God. Read More	Latta Mr. Billy Joe Bryant, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dillon County, SC, on November 24, 1958, he was a son of the late John Lorise Bryant and Margaret Belle Johnson Bryant. He was a member of the Dillon Church of God. During his working career, he worked for Latta Milling & Grain Company, Carpostan Industries, Inc. in Lake View, SC ( 20 +years), and was owner/operator of Billy’s Lawn Care. He will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit. He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Janice Powers Bryant of the home; siblings, Rev. John (Sara) Bryant of Dillon, Christine Bourgoin of Floyd Dale, Franklin (Maxine) Bryant of Latta, (sister and special caregiver) Linda Strickland of Floyd Dale, and a half sister, Frances (Terry) Jenkins of Latta; 13 special nieces & nephews & one special great niece, Jaylee Lane; special feline friend, “White Shoes”; special friends, Patricia (Phillip) Webster Owens and Chad & Kaycie Lockamy. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Christine Bourgoin, 3146 Phantom Lake Ct., Latta. He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; and by his father and mother in law, James Thomas Powers and Mary Powers. Memorials are suggested to: Hospice Care of South Carolina, 200 W. Harrison St., Ste D, Dillon, SC 29536; St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 61337, Memphis, TN 38101-3377; or to Neighbor’s Helping Friends, c/o Donnie Grimsley, 1109 N. 4th Ave., Dillon, SC 29536. The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to Hospice Care of South Carolina, especially to his nurse and friend, Shannon Carter who was God sent.
