Blaine was born in Alliance, NE on April 11, 1970 to Ivan and Jeanne Quick.He married Amy Hunter on December 28, 2007 and became the proud father to Wyatt, Tristan and Karsen. Quick, 44, passed away June 24, 2014 at his home in Bayard, NE. Blaine was born in Alliance, NE on April 11, 1970 to Ivan and Jeanne Quick.He married Amy Hunter on December 28, 2007 and became the proud father to Wyatt, Tristan and Karsen. To this union they welcomed an additional son, Holdyn. Blaine was raised in Alliance where he attended St. Agnes Academy. After high school Blaine enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1988. He received many awards and honors during his service. He always lived the Marine Corps motto Semper Fidelis, Always Faithful. Blaine moved back home after his discharge in 1992 where he began his lifelong career with the BNSF Railroad. He started in the track department and transferred into the signal department in 1994. Due to his sickness with ALS he was forced into an early medical retirement in January of 2014. He truly loved every aspect of his job and all the people he met along the way. Blaine met Amy on a blind date and from there it developed into a lasting relationship. He was a very proud step-dad and considered the boys his own. Holdyn was a welcomed addition to the family. His boys and Amy were the light of his life. He was a very proud father and thoroughly enjoyed partaking in every aspect of their lives. Blaine and Amy also loved other children and were involved in the Foster Care and Foreign Exchange Student Programs. Through those programs they developed strong relationships. Roman Konvička, an exchange student from the Czech Republic, lived with Blaine and his family this past school year. He considered Roman as another son. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman. It gave him great pride to know that his boys, nieces and nephews shared his passion. Blaine is survived by his wife Amy of Bayard, sons Wyatt Hunter of Scottsbluff, Tristan and Karsen Hunter and Holdyn Quick all of Bayard. He is also survived by his parents Ivan and Jeanne Quick, brothers and sisters Deon and Tara Quick, Bryant and Jamie Quick and Dennis Quick all of Alliance, Dedra and Nate Hernandez of Gering, Terra & Wade Robbins of Sturgis, SD and Carl Quick of Alliance, and many nieces and nephews who were dearly loved by him. Grandmother Leola Peterson of Lower Brule, SD. Lifelong friends, loved like siblings, Chuck, Robbie & Danny Adamson and Karri (Adamson) Garcia. His wife's parents, Steve & Barbara Offenbacher of Phoenix, AZ and Gordon Higley of Nevada, his grandmother Cleone Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elmer & Jude Quick of Clearfield, SD & Lyle Peterson of Lower Brule, SD. Funeral services will be June 30, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Alliance. Burial will be in the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance, with full military honors.
