Description	:	Blanche A. M. Joenks was born June 28,1906 in rural Albert City to Carl O. and Nellie Johnson. She grew up in the Albert City, Marathon area, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Albert City. She attended country school and high school up to 11th grade at which time she quit to help on the family farm after the death of her father. On Dec. 25, 1932 she married Harold Joenks of Laurens. Read More	Blanche A. M. Joenks was born June 28,1906 in rural Albert City to Carl O. and Nellie Johnson. She grew up in the Albert City, Marathon area, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Albert City. She attended country school and high school up to 11th grade at which time she quit to help on the family farm after the death of her father. On Dec. 25, 1932 she married Harold Joenks of Laurens. They made their home in Laurens and Albert City until his death in October of 1994, at which time she moved to LeMars and made her home with her daughter and husband. Blanche was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City where she served as a deaconess and also she and Harold were custodians for a period of time. She also had a church family with First Baptist Church in LeMars the past year. Her hobbies included crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and most of all being with her family, all of which she was able to do up until a few days before her passing. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Harold; a sister, Helen Hemm and a brother, Melford Johnson.
