King Blanche May, daughter of Delos and Mary Rice Rawson, was born on January 9, 1878, on a farm near Taylorville where she lived until her marriage. she attended the school in Taylorville, then a small village across the high way from the present burying grounds. She was a talented musician - was the originator of many unique and enjoyable entertainments. Whtever she attempted to do was done whole heartedly and well. She was a valuable assistant in church, community and social affairs, always doing her full share - often holding offices of prominence and trust. She lived to be 61 years, 9 months, and 10 days old. She was preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, Almena Adeline Reiser in 1909 and Iva Elmira Newton in 1928. Two brothers survive, Orange S. Rawson of this place, and James E. Rawson of near Independence. Blanche Mae Rawson and Fred William King were united in the holy bonds of matrimony April 15, 1897 and thru a life together of more than 42 years they continued to hold their marriage sacred and all that meant the true happiness of their home. They established their first home on the farm now owned by L.F. Meisgeier where they resided one year, thence to the former farm home of the bride's grandfather Rice where they continued to reside until they moved to Arlington about 12 years ago. During their lifetime they have been loyal and valued friends of all who knew them best. Funeral serivces were held Sunday, October 22nd, at the home and the Arlington Methodist church, with the pastor, Rev. E.J. Starr, in charge. Two hymns, "Asleep in Jesus" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Burton North, accompanied by Mrs. C. H. Gitchell. Rev. Edwin Hignett, pastor of the Christian church, offered prayer. Burial in the Taylorsville cemetery.
