Description	:	SUTHERLAND, BLANCHE MARJORIE August 31st, 1923 - March 15, 2022 Blanche Marjorie Sutherland passed away peacefully in Owen Sound with her sister Carol by her side on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in her 99th year. Born on August 31st, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Lottie and William Cathrae. Blanche will be missed by her brothers Bill Cathrae (late Shirley) and Doug Cathrae (Orla), her youngest sister Carol Parkin (late Harvey), sister-in-law Bonnie Cathrae, and was predeceased by her brother Ted Cathrae, her sister Marie Cathrae and her best friend John Simon. Blanche worked for over 30 years in the Food Services Division at the University of Guelph Blanche lived at her house in Midland had family in Owen Sound or Meaford. Blanche lived at Summit Place Lodge for the last few years of her life before moving to Lee Manor Nursing Home in late 2021. A private graveside service will be conducted in the spring at McLean's Cemetery in Bognor. Donations to the Meaford United Church. She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, and their families. Blanche worked for over 30 years in the Food Services Division at the University of Guelph, catering to staff, students, and dignitaries during her distinguished career. Blanche's greatest enjoyment in life was her family. Famous for her amazing cooking and baking, her raspberry pies were always a hit at family gatherings around the pool at her house in Midland or with family in Owen Sound or Meaford. Blanche lived at Summit Place Lodge for the last few years of her life before moving to Lee Manor Nursing Home in late 2021 and her outgoing nature fostered friendships with the staff and residents in both locations. Blanche will forever hold a special place in our hearts because of her generosity and the love she shared over her long lifetime. A private graveside service will be conducted in the spring at McLean's Cemetery in Bognor.
