Keith Roumpf, the soloist was Mrs. Donna Fisher, and the organist was Mrs. Elsie Brodrick. Pallbearers were Cleal Douglas, Harold Douglas, Marlin Williams, Ronald Williams, Jerry Woolen, and Roger Woolen. The interment was in Fairfield Cemetery. She had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Village for the past few years. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ira Douglas on Dec. 3, 1885. She was a native of Webster County and attended school at Lawrence, Nebr. During her childhood she attended a Presbyterian Church near Lawrence. She was baptized in the Christian Church when she resided at Good Samaritan Village. She was married to Nelson Woolen on Dec. 7, 1904. This couple farmed near Lawrence and Nelson before moving to Fairfield in 1926. Her family and friends remember her as a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to work in her yard and garden and help others in any way she could. To this union were born ten children. One child, Ivan, preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons and 6 daughters; Alvin of Springfield, Ore.; Loyall of Stockton, Cal.; Doial of Portland, Ore.; Nila Harvey of Bay City, Mich.; Erma Hanzlick of Fairbury, Nebr.; Eldora Artrup of Fairfield; Hazel King of San Gabriel, Cal.; Ida Croft of Portland, Ore.; and Lola Stewert of Sweet Home, Ore. Her husband preceded her in death by exactly twenty-four years on Jan. 25, 1946. Twenty-three grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two half-brothers, Earl Douglas of Scottsbluff, and Guy Douglas of Hastings, half-sisters, Pearl Henry of Guide Rock, and Nellie Becker of Minden, Mrs. Mabel Vance of Lincoln, and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to mention mourn her passing.
