Funeral services will be held at the Riceville United Methodist Church in Riceville on Thursday February 7, 2008 at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Pam Kranzler officiating. Blanche was born on January 18, 1919 in Raymond, MN, to Neut Albert Anderson and Lola (Landmesser) Anderson. On July 3, 1937, Blanche was united in marriage to Gleston Garfield Smith at the Methodist Church in Onamia, Minnesota. The couple was married almost 53 years. They lived on their farm in Howard County for forty five years, where they raised their four children. In 1993, Blanche married Charles Robinson, and enjoyed the five years they had together, although she suffered a stroke during that time. She went into the Riceville Rest Home in 1998, where she resided until her death. Blanche was a member of the United Methodist Church in Riceville, IA She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, crocheting, playing cards, especially crazy rummy, and most of all being with her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and we all have many, many wonderful memories. Blanche is survived by her husband Charles Robinson, two daughters and one son; Leola Kock (Darwin), Larry Smith (Debbie), and Connie Knode (John), all of Riceville; 14 grandchildren and 25 great- grandchildren. Blanche is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gleston on May 23, 1990; son, David; granddaughter, Kelly; and great grandson, Austin; three sisters, Evelyn Blossey, Gladys Everson, and Buelah Wood, and one brother, Harold Anderson (Andy).
