This is the second time a pestilence has... Read More	Died - On Sunday, Nov. 6 1892 at 7:30 a.m. of that dreaded disease diphtheria, Blanche R., the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Harvey, aged 7 years, 11 months and 17 days. Little Blanche had always seemed to be a remarkably healthy child and always of rosy blooming apperance, but about two weeks ago was stricken with the dreadful plague now abroad and after a time of intense suffering her spirit took its flight to her heavenly home there to escape forever the perils and turmoils of life. This is the second time a pestilence has entered this family and born away its loved ones. Several years ago Mr. and Mrs. Harvey lost two children with scarlet fever. It would seem that the hand of affliction had been lain heavily upon them, but He hath said, "whom He loveth He chasteneth." While their grief seems now overwhelming they have the assurance that their darling is safe in the arms of the Savior, who said, "of such as these are the kingdom of heaven." The funeral was private from the nature of the disease but a number of friends accompanied the bereaved family to the cemetery where W. K. Gray read the burial service and a quartette composed of Misses Gorsline and Leftwich and Messrs Gray and Hayward sang, "Baby is going to By-lo land," a song well beloved the little girl and one often sung by herself and sister. The singing was very appropriate and beautiful, here in the eventide just as the stars were peeping from the sky, and one was impressed with the fact that one more baby had closed her eyes on earth to open them in heaven. The family have the deepest sympathy of the community and the heartfelt desire of all is that they may be spared further affliction. Card of thanks - The present diphtheria scourge which has carried away our beloved Blanche has placed us under deep obligation to the kind and brave friends who at great risk to themselves, tendered assistance and who like ministering angels, watched at the sick couch and with anxious solicitude, daily witnessed the slipping of the little feet, the ebbing away of her bright young life, the descent into death. Her many little friends and schoolmates, who daily inquired after her condition, we wish to remember. To our friends who assisted in her burial and tendered their sympathy and encouragment, we desire to extend to them our sincere thanks. R.
