Description	:	Blanche (Whitley) Hatley, 85, of 12530 B Hazard Road, Oakboro, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at her home. Born March 8, 1923, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Manasseh L. Whitley and the late Nancy Vivian (Barbee) Whitley. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Marshall Vernon Hatley of Oakboro; a son, Steven M. Hatley and wife, Linda, of Norwood; a daughter, Vivian (Hatley) Austin and husband, Mike, of Oakboro; two sisters, Faye Daily and Jane Honeycutt, both of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Jerrod Hatley, Michelle Boswell,... Read More	Blanche (Whitley) Hatley, 85, of 12530 B Hazard Road, Oakboro, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at her home. Born March 8, 1923, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Manasseh L. Whitley and the late Nancy Vivian (Barbee) Whitley. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Marshall Vernon Hatley of Oakboro; a son, Steven M. Hatley and wife, Linda, of Norwood; a daughter, Vivian (Hatley) Austin and husband, Mike, of Oakboro; two sisters, Faye Daily and Jane Honeycutt, both of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Jerrod Hatley, Michelle Boswell, and Kerry Austin; two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Abby Hatley; and a special niece, Shirley Edwards of Oakboro. She was retired from Belks of Albemarle and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hatley loved working outside in her yard and in her garden. She was a member of Barbee's Grove Baptist Church in Oakboro. Her funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, with a 30-minute state at Barbee's Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Terry Burris and The Rev. Lowell Brown will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Barbee's Grove Baptist Church. At other times the family will be at the home, 12530 B Hazard Road, Oakboro. Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
