Per her wishes, she has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall. Bonita Phyllis ‘Bonnie’ (Kruse) Kingsbury, was born in Ogden, Iowa, on February 14, 1929, the daughter of Edward Peter-George and Gladys Rubeena (Engleen) Kruse. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1947. On January 28, 1950, Bonnie married Carrol Kingsbury in Des Moines. To this union, four children were born, Marcelyn, Rosalie, Barbara and Ronald. Bonnie was a home maker for her family and she was a cook at the Westhaven Community until her retirement in 2006. Bonnie was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church. She was a girl scout for life, as she was very active and a Troop Leader. She enjoyed camping, baking and going to coffee. Bonnie and Carrol were members of the Iowa Draft Pony Hitch Association in Des Moines, Iowa. They showed a team of ponies and would be entered into many parades over the years. Most of all, Bonnie loved to spend time with Carrol. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol in 1997; daughter, Marcelyn Reeves in 1999 and her parents and her twin sister, Benita, at birth and a brothers, Dennis, in infancy. Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Rosalie ‘Rose’ Rysavy and her husband, Russell of Boone and Barbara Kingsbury of Seattle, Washington; a son, Ronald Kingsbury and his wife, Jean of Nevada; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Sharp of Boone and Charlene Brice of Boone and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
