Description	:	Saturday morning, July 23rd, 1949, Mrs Charles Stevens passed away at her home here in Sargent after an illness that kept her at home quite awhile although she was not regarded as seriously ill. The funeral was held at the Sargent Methodist church Monday afternoon, July 25, commencing at 2:30 o'clock. There was present a crowd that occupied nearly all of the auditorium of the church. The sermon was preached by Rev Zook, Pastor of the church. The songs used were "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", "The Old Rugged Cross", and "We are Going Down the Valley". ... The singers were Robert Brown, Bernard Brush, Mrs. Grace J Kidder, and Mrs Bernice Rush, with Miss Clara Beth Swanda at the piano. The pall bearers were Ralph Sillivan, Clive Tobias, E Niel Goodrich, James Gardner Pierce, Charles Roe, and Sidney Grint. Interment was made in the Sargent cemetery. Bonnie Bell Willhoit was born April 24, 1879 in Gage County, Nebraska, and passed away at her home in Sargent, Nebraska, July 23, 1949 at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 29 days. She came to Custer County with her parents and brothers and sisters in the early eighties. Most of her schooling was secured in the country school in the Antelope Vally district seven or eight miles southwest of Sargent. She joined the Congregational Church in young womanhood and leter became a member of the Methodist church. On June 5, 1907, she was united in marriage to Charles C Stevens of Cherry County, Nebraska. In 1909 she and her husband moved to Antelope Valley in Custer County. To Mr and Mrs Charles Stevens was born Clifford Edgar, now aged 32 years. Besides her loving husband, she leaves to morn her going her son and his wife and her little granddaughter. She also leaves one sister, Jessie Stevens of Basin, Wyoming, her brothers, Joe Willhoit of Sargent, Nebraska, and Albert Willhoit of Staunton, Illinois, and one half sister, Kate Willhoit of San Francisco, California, who is 88 years of age. Her father passed away in 1904 and her mother in 1929. She also had two full sisters, three half sisters and two half brothers who preceded her in death.
