Description	:	Bonnie Jean Hird, 82, of Herington, KS died Saturday, March 12th, 2011, at the Salina Reginal Health Center. She was born on November 13, 1928, at Leonardville, the daughter of Clarence and Mae (Siekels) Breese. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 pm Tuesday, March 15th, 2011, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, with Rev. Shawn Baird officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, at a later date. Mrs. Hird was a homemaker, she worked as a cook and then worked for over 30 years as a medical aide at the Lutheran Home, until she retired in 1991. She married William L. "Bill" Hird on November 28, 1946, at Council Grove, KS; he preceded in death on May 19, 1989; she was also preceded in death by a brother Wayne Breese and her parents. She is survived by four daughters: Janice Kuntzman (husband-George) of White City, Connie Champ of Topeka, Bonnie June Johnson (husband-T.J.) of Berryton, and Linda Eckhart of Carbondale; a brother LeRoy Breese of Wichita; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. The family request memorials, in lieu of flowers, to the Medicalodges of Herington; and they can be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 South Broadway, Herington, Kansas, 67449-3038.
