Inurnment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon, Nebraska. Bonnie June (Meyer) Williams, 95 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on March 12, 2022, at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. Bonnie was born in Alma, Nebraska on June 4, 1926, the fourth daughter, born to Walter B. and Bessie Ester (Gibson) Meyer. Bonnie graduated from Alma Public School with the class of 1943. Bonnie participated in Teacher preparation which was taught in Alma High School through Normal Training classes. Following Normal Training, Bonnie went on to teach two years at Midway in a one room schoolhouse. Subsequently, she taught three years in Alma and one year in Republican City. She continued her education during the summer at Kearney State College and later attended Nebraska Wesleyan University. On June 14, 1947, Bonnie was united in marriage to Norville Preston Williams and to this union two sons were born: David Preston and Craig Allen. Bonnie, Norv and family lived in Colorado for 50 years. Bonnie worked in various retail positions through the years, as well as raising a family and she often took care of her mother. Bonnie enjoyed traveling and she loved music, drawing, writing and reading. During the year of 2020, when the nursing home often required isolation to her room, her love of reading continued to be a source of interest that served her well. In 2000, Bonnie and Norv retired to Holdrege, Nebraska, where they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Bonnie and her sisters were reunited in Holdrege, where they shared vacations, cards and laughter for many fun times. Bonnie and Norv also provided much love and companionship to each sister through their many illnesses. After Norv passed away, Bonnie continued care to her remaining sister with visits, gifts, cards and conversations. Bonnie said, "Her greatest joy was her family and the visits and calls from her children, grandchildren and nieces." She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Bonnie grew up in the Evangelical Church in Alma, Nebraska and later, was a member of Lakewood United Methodist and Applewood Valley United Methodist Church in Lakewood and Wheatridge, Colorado. During her years at Holdrege Memorial Homes, the religious services were a meaningful part of her life. Besides her husband and parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by; four sisters: Evelyn Skiles and her husband Orval; Margaret Cain and her husband, Robert; Irene Snyder and her husband Joe; and Elizabeth "Betty" Spahn and her husband, Reuben. Bonnie is survived by her children: David Williams and his wife, Cindy of Wichita, Kansas; and Craig Williams of Estes Park, Colorado; six grandchildren: Amanda Larigan and her husband, Tim; Erica Jacobi; Robert Williams and his wife, Amy; Casey Williams; Christy Dreiling and her husband, Jason; and Michael Williams and his wife, Morgan; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. The Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege is in charge of the arrangements.
