Description	:	Bonnie Lou Baade, 82, life-long North Platte resident, passed away January 10, 2021, at her home. She was born July 31, 1938, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Henry Jensen and Shirley (White) Lunkwitz. She was raised in North Platte, and attended North Platte High School. The... Read More	Bonnie Lou Baade, 82, life-long North Platte resident, passed away January 10, 2021, at her home. She was born July 31, 1938, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Henry Jensen and Shirley (White) Lunkwitz. She was raised in North Platte, and attended North Platte High School. Afterward, she obtained a business degree at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte. In the 1960's, she obtained a real estate license and worked as an agent for English Real Estate and then took a position with the Richardson Travel Agency, where she worked as an agent for many years. The company was renamed Travel Chain of Nebraska, which she eventually acquired and became the owner and operated the company as Bonnie's Travel Chain of Nebraska for 35 years until closing in 2002. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Organization in North Platte for many years, and was one of the well known women's business owner's in the community for many years. She was also a lifelong member of the 1st Lutheran Church of North Platte. She was blessed to raise 5 beloved children with her soul mate Darrell Baade, whom she married on February 4th, 1963. Bonnie was bright, lively, and loved to travel. She lived in Japan for 2 years when she was young and during the course of her days she took many trips both in and out of the country. She loved music and dancing and had many friends. She was sound in her business dealings and didn't "take wooden nickels". She was a very fun mom who taught hard work, encouraged development of hobbies and talents, as well as a simple, easy lifestyle which made time for friends and family. With her husband Darrell, the two of them had many friends in North Platte through affiliations with the Buffalo Bill Rodeo Committee, Hadley Barrett and the Westerners band, The Moose Club, The Elk Lodge, KNOP/KAHL radio, the North Platte Mall and others. They also had a cabin at Lake Maloney, and family and friends enjoyed many years fishing, boating, and spending time together at the lake with Darrell and Bonnie. After her retirement, she sewed and donated 67 quilts to foreign relief efforts in war torn areas overseas. She was a compassionate and generous person. Survivors include her children, Kim and Bob Redmon of Elizabeth, CO., Kevin Baade and Kathy Schreiber, of North Platte, Kristy and Ron Lage of Arthur, Kraig and Michelle Baade of Castle Rock, CO.; brother, Ray Lunkwitz of North Platte; sister, Darlene Miller of Colby, Ks; Grandpa Art Jones of Lincoln; Rick Schreiber of Omaha; grandchildren, Ryan Baade, Jared Lage, Wil and Jessica Lage, Georgie Lage, Sophie and Colby Tinajera, Emily, Jensen, and Elizabeth Baade; great granddaughter, Serenity Baade; and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Jensen and Shirley Lunkwitz; mother-in-law, Marjorie Jones; husband, Darrell Baade; sister, Beverly Saathoff; and brother-in-law Clifford Baade. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Trails Network. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16 at the Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12-8 p.m., Friday, January 15 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel which is entrusted with arrangements.
