Bonnie was born September 22, 1930 south of Axtell, Nebraska in Kearney County, the third of four children born to Stanley C. and Eva S. (Matson) Nelson. Bonnie was born September 22, 1930 south of Axtell, Nebraska in Kearney County, the third of four children born to Stanley C. and Eva S. (Matson) Nelson. Bonnie was confirmed at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Funk, Nebraska. She attended School District #15 and then high school in Wilcox, graduating with the Wilcox High School class of 1948. On May 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to James Rhea "Jim" Collison at Funk. To this union five children were born: Bradley, Tresa, Roy, Frary, and Jeffrey. The family made their home in Holdrege, where she was employed at the Peterson Hospital for a short time period of time. Bonnie then focused her life on raising her children and supported her husband in the family business, Holdrege Electric for over 35 years. She loved the time spent with her grandchildren. Jim passed away on January 21, 2005. Bonnie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege. She enjoyed traveling, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crocheting, stained glass and card playing, especially bridge. She will be remembered fondly for her great cooking. Besides her parents and husband, Jim, Bonnie was preceded in death by brother, James Nelson in infancy; sisters-in-law: Idella Nelson, Winnie Nelson and Charlyn Wilson and her husband, Reese. Bonnie leaves to mourn her passing her five children: Bradley Collison of Axtell, Tresa Huffman and her husband, Oly of Axtell, Roy Collison of Heartwell, Nebraska, Frary Palmer and her husband, Jim of Omaha, Nebraska, Jeff Collison and his wife, Annette of Axtell; grandchildren: Jeffrey Collison of Roseville, California, Elizabeth Seyfert and her husband, Jeremy of Shawnee, Kansas, Melissa Bucher and her husband, Ryan of Littleton, Colorado, Matthew and Jimmy Huffman of Axtell, Jordon Collison of Melvern, Kansas, Michael Deegan and his wife, Claire and Sean Deegan all of Omaha, Sharesse Houchin and her husband, Lucas of Axtell, and Caleb Collison; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Ward S. Nelson and his wife, RoJean of Wilcox and Dale R. Nelson of Minden, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends.
