He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Edna Singleton, and his wife, Mary Ann Singleton. Tommy was formerly employed by Tubular Textile in Lexington as a Technician where he had the opportunity to travel to many places world wide, including several trips to the Holy Land. "Tommy" Singleton, 66, of Lexington, NC formerly of Wharton, WV died Jan. 25, 2008 at K. B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Edna Singleton, and his wife, Mary Ann Singleton. Tommy was formerly employed by Tubular Textile in Lexington as a Technician where he had the opportunity to travel to many places world wide, including several trips to the Holy Land. He had 23 years of service with Eastern Associated Coal, where he was a UMWA member and also a company foreman. He was the recent owner and operator of Sweet Peas Ice Creamery. He was also a Veteran of the US Army and he was a christian. Survivors include, sons, Greg and his wife Gayle, and Brent and his wife Renee, all of Lexington, NC., Robbie and his wife Mona of Walnut Cove, NC; daughter Leisa and her husband Rodger of Lexington, NC; and brother Charles Singleton of Van, WV. He had six grandchildren. The service will be held at 11:00, a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Bald Knob United Methodist Church with the Rev. Shelia Workman officiating. Burial will be in the Workman Cemetery at Bald Knob with military graveside rites performed by VFW Daniel Boone Post 5578, Madison, West Virginia.
