Funeral service will be today, Feb. 7, at Bear Cove Baptist Church, with Frank Randolph and Jerry Pullum officiating. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery. She retired from Thomas Industries after 46 years of employment. She was a member of the Bear Cove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters. Brassie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Oscar Young Jr.; son, Jeff Young and wife, Kim, of Sparta; granddaughter, Maelybeth Young of Sparta; sister, Sylvia Farmer and Dennis of Sparta; brothers, Johnny England and Frances of McMinnville, Ivan England and Pat of Crossville, Talmadge England and Elaine of Ozark, AL, and Ernest D. England and Lillian of Sparta; sisters-in-law, Edmonda Stephens of Sparta, Dora and Dan Dummings of Sparta, Nora Young of Smithville and Elsie Young of Sparta; brother-in-law, Carl Young of Goleta, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was cared for and loved her family and caregiver, Barbara Parrish. Hunter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
