She passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at her residence. Brenda Sue (Nolan) Wickersham, daughter of Dale and Judy Nolan, was born January 25, 1961, at Community Hospital in Wagner, South Dakota. Brenda attended Spencer Public School from where she graduated in 1979. She attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, where she studied Business, Accounting, and Secretarial courses. After receiving her diploma in Secretarial, she returned to Boyd County where she worked in the Soil Conservation Service Office in Butte, Nebraska. Brenda married Darold Wickersham on May 25, 1984, on her parent’s farm north of Spencer, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Amber, Ashley, and Nolan. After marrying Darold, Brenda moved to Columbus, Nebraska where she worked at the Register of Deeds Office and later became Deputy Register of Deeds. In 1986, Darold and Brenda purchased his parent farm. In 1992, they moved back to Lynch, Nebraska. After moving back to Boyd County, Brenda worked at the Courthouse as a fill in at the Clerk’s Office, at Farmer’s Union Co-Op in Lynch as the bookkeeper, and at BTR Qwik Stop as a clerk and doing cooking also. In 1997, Brenda went to work for Three River Telco in Lynch, Nebraska. She worked in the accounting department and eventually became the office supervisor. Brenda had three grandchildren that she adored very much. She would spend as much time with them as she possibly could and loved babysitting them. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her. She enjoyed cooking lunch for her parents on the weekends. She enjoyed working on the Nolan family genealogy book and would travel to different courthouses to do research. She will be remembered always by everyone she met as a very loving and selfless person. Brenda is survived by her three children, Amber (T’Jae) Estes of Eagle, Nebraska, Ashley (Jeff) Hermann of Juniata, Nebraska, and Nolan Wickersham of Lynch, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Baylee and Paxton Estes of Eagle, Nebraska, and Tenley Hermann of Juniata, Nebraska; her parents, Dale and Judy Nolan of Spencer, Nebraska; brothers, Gary (Marge) Nolan of Butte, Nebraska and John (Jan) Nolan of Spencer, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Amy Nolan and Elvin and Tracy Bailey; and brother, Jerald Nolan.
