Graff will officiate, with private family burial in Highland Cemetery in Lynch at a later date . Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. He passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at his residence. Darold Eugene Wickersham, son of Harold and Velma Wickersham, was born October 31, 1952, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lynch, Nebraska. Darold attended Lynch Public School from where he graduated in 1971. After high school, Darold worked for Douglas and Lomason Co. in Columbus, Nebraska until the late 1970’s, Orin Manufacturing Company in Columbus, Nebraska until 1984, and then Industrial Engineering Company in Columbus, Nebraska until he returned to Lynch, Nebraska. Darold married Brenda Nolan on May 25, 1984, on her parent’s farm north of Spencer, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Amber, Ashley, and Nolan. In 1986, Darold and Brenda purchased his parent’s farm. In 1992, they moved back to Lynch, Nebraska. After moving back to Boyd County, Darold worked for Heiser Livestock, Lueken Construction, was a Boyd County Supervisor, and served on the Boyd-Holt E911 Board along with doing the farming and taking care of the cattle. In May 2012, Darold was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He underwent surgery in 2012 and had radiation treatments in 2013. In 2016, they found that the cancer had spread to his bones. Darold enjoyed being active. When he was younger he played in softball leagues, and then after retiring from farming he focused on gardening. He loved seeing his grandkids grow and play. He would go visit them as often as he could. He also enjoyed spending time visiting with close friends. Darold is survived by his four children, Amber (T’Jae) Estes of Eagle, Nebraska, Ashley (Jeff) Hermann of Juniata, Nebraska, Nolan Wickersham of Lynch, Nebraska, and Mandy (Lance) Lydick of Gretna, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Baylee and Paxton Estes of Eagle, Nebraska, and Tenley Hermann of Juniata, Nebraska, Calli and Brody Lydick of Gretna, Nebraska; brothers Jack (Julie) Wickersham of Parker, South Dakota and John Wickersham of Lynch, Nebraska; sister, Valene Mahlendorf of Neligh, Nebraska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Chloe Wickersham and Andrew and Hazel Pritchett; parents, Harold and Velma Wickersham; and brothers, Dennis Wickersham, Larry Wickersham, and Lawrence Wickersham.
