Read More	Boone County Democrat July 9, 1914 Monday morning at 8:45 o’clock death claimed Mrs. Bridget Ward Kenney, an aged and well known pioneer resident of Boone county, at her home, 1212 Fifteenth street. Mrs. Kenney had been in failing health for several months and her death was not unexpected. Her husband preceded her several years ago. She leaves a number of children and grandchildren to mourn her death, and to them is extended the sympathy of a wide circle of friends. The funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart church this Thursday morning at 9 o’clock, conducted by Father J.P. Barron. Burial in the Catholic cemetery. We hope to secure a complete obituary for our next issue. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9:00 o’clock from the Church of the Sacred Heart for the late Mrs. Bridget Ward Kenney, who passed away Monday. The Rev. Father Barron was in charge. The body was taken to the Catholic cemetery for interment. Many friends attended the last rites and the profusion of flowers bespoke of the friendships for this pioneer woman. The pall bearers were Messrs. E.C. Jordan, W.R. Matt, James McCoy, Anthony McCoy, Denny Ivis and John Kennedy. Mrs. Kenney was sick for about two weeks prior to her death, dropsy of the heart causing the end, which came peacefully Monday morning, July 6th, at 8:45 o’clock at the family residence No. 1212 Fifteenth street. Bridget Ward was born in Ireland on March 17th, about 70 years ago and came to the United States when a young woman, settling for a while in Illinois. While there she was married to Thomas Kenney, who brought her to Boone county where they went to farming. The father passed away fifteen years ago, and eleven years ago Mrs. Kenney moved to Boone with her family where she has continued to reside. Two sons, Edward and Harry and one daughter, Katherine passed away years ago, leaving two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Eckley of Ogden and Mrs. Mary Eckley of Boone and three sons, John and Dan of Boone and Frank Kenney of Chicago.
