Funeral services for Bruce will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Loren Yoder will officiate the services. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion. Bruce Keeler was born June 4, 1931 in Lone Tree, Iowa the son of Benjamin Franklin and Susan Jane (Bell) Keeler. On July 2, 1950, Bruce was united in marriage to Pauline May Powers at the Methodist Church in West Branch, Iowa. Bruce farmed for many years till 1973 and also worked at Rath Packing of Columbus Junction during that time. He later was employed at Crane Company in Washington till moving to Colorado in 1985. His second retirement from the Department of Corrections in Colorado came in 1999 when her moved back to Wayland, Iowa and later made his final residence in Brighton, Iowa. He was a member of the Columbus City Masonic Lodge #107. While in Colorado he enjoyed Mountain and big game hunting and later in Iowa always hunting the smaller game. His time was always filled with the enjoyment of making carpentry items. Bruce will be deeply missed by his wife, Pauline of Brighton; his eight children, Donald K. Powers of Ainsworth, James B. Keeler and his wife Kate of Taylor, AZ, Ronald E. Keeler and his wife Georgetta of Marrieta, GA, John L. Keeler and his wife Carol of Canyon City, CO, Stephen A Keeler and his wife Beverly of Riverside, Vickie L. Michel and her husband Kevin of Brighton, IA, Gerald A. Keeler and his wife Mary of Brighton, IA, Randall S. Keeler and his wife Marna of Bronston, KY; twenty four grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Keeler and his wife Faye of Collinsville, IL. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Thomas Keeler, five brothers, John, Keith, Stanley, James, and Bob; and four sisters, Jenny, Bernadine, Helen, and Mary.
